What would you do if you were stuck on a deserted island at night with only a simple day pack? No electronics, PSP, mobile phone, or bed. Would you make this island your grave, or would you seek a way back to civilization?
After what seemed like hours, we arrived on the coast. We were scheduled to take a longtail boat to a 90-ft sailing ship, which would then take us to the campsite. I could predict what weather would be like here, after watching the trees sway in the breeze and water lap gently on the shore. Soon a longtail appeared. It clunked and smelled of burnt gasoline, but it got us to the ship swiftly.
The ship was ninety-feet long with grand sails, and it rocked swiftly in the ocean. We soon got on, and I was joyful to feel confident as a sailor riding on the ocean waves. After about two hours, we reached the island. That’s right; nothing on the island but our troop’s equipment and a few tents. Just then, water started to sprinkle on my forehead.
